Validity of dimensional reduction in the random field O ( N ) spin model for sufficiently large N

چکیده
We study the critical phenomena of a random field O(N) spin model near the lower critical dimension, by means of the renormalization group method and the 1/N expansion. We treat the O(N) nonlinear σ model including a random field and all the random anisotropy terms, and calculate the one-loop beta function for a linear combination of them in d = 4+ 2 under the assumption of replica symmetry. At first, we obtain all fixed points for the oneloop beta function in the large N limit, and discuss their stability. We find that the fixed point yielding dimensional reduction is singly unstable, and others are the fixed points with many relevant modes, or unphysical fixed point. Therefore, in the large N limit, the critical phenomena in 4 + 2 dimensions is found to be governed by the fixed point which gives the result of dimensional reduction. Next, we investigate the 1/N correction to the fixed point yielding dimensional reduction. Careful analysis of the eigenvalue equation for the infinitesimal deviation from the fixed point is done at order 1/N . In practice, the fixed point yielding dimensional reduction is found to be singly unstable. Thus, we conclude that the dimensional reduction holds for sufficiently large N .

Magnetic Properties in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Square Lattice
In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4), ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...

Within the effective-field theory with correlations (EFT), a transverse random field spin-1 Ising model on the simple cubic (z=6) lattice is studied. The phase diagrams, the behavior of critical points, transverse magnetization, internal energy, magnetic specific heat are obtained numerically and discussed for different values of p the concentration of the random transverse field.

In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...
متن کاملCritical properties of a spin glass with anisotropic Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya interaction
We study the classical n-vector (n > 3) spin glass with anisotropic quenched random Dzyaloshinskii–Moriya (DM) interaction. A random DM interaction with m independent and separated couplings defines a generalized gauge-glass model with a O(n − 2m) ⊗m O(2) rotational symmetry and a broken global reflection invariance. It is shown that this model is in the same universality class as the random-ga...
